“Ametla Mallorquina" is a collective quality mark created by the Association for the Promotion of Mallorcan Almonds, which is used to identify the dried fruit of the almond tree (Prunus amygdalus B) that fulfils the technical quality standards contained in the regulation for the use of this mark. The quality mark's corresponding regulation specifies the minimum quality specifications that almonds complying with it must meet, and it establishes the almond's internal and external characteristics, stipulations regarding the fruit's classification, standardization conditions and thresholds and the way in which the product should be presented and packaged. Under the terms of this regulation, almonds that can be sold with the
"Ametla Mallorquina" quality mark include almonds with shells, whole almonds, blanched almonds and products made with this dried fruit.
