Monuments and Museums

If you are intrigued by the island, you can go into the history of Mallorca in more depth by visiting its monuments. Treat yourself to a trip around the island or have a walk around the heart of Palma’s historic centre. Mallorca has an amazing Roman, Muslim and Christian past.
Let yourself be fascinated by the romantic splendour of the past in your visits to the Mallorcan stately houses from the 17th and 18th centuries, both in the city and in the country. Go deep into the prehistoric villages and learn about our past by visiting the Talaiotic settlements found on the island. Dare yourself to find out more about the cultural heritage that its buildings, squares, palaces, courtyards and gardens preserve, such as the Cathedral, the Royal Palace of La Almudaina, the old city walls, Sa Llotja, the Arab Baths or the City Council.
One of the most representative architectural pieces of the island is the Bellver Castle, since it is one of the only three circular shaped castles that exist in Europe. The caves located in the forest surrounding the castle, to which they belong, have been recently prepared to receive visitors.
The Cathedral is famous for containing one of the biggest Levantine Gothic rose windows, known as the Gothic Eye.
The Lluc Monastery is the main pilgrimage destination on the island par excellent, as the Virgin of Lluc (Mallorca’s patron saint) is there.
The Bendinat Castle was built in the 19th century by the Marquis of la Romana.
