Fray Junípero Serra Museum, in Petra

The town of Petra is known worldwide for its relationship with Fray Junipero Serra, who was born in the region on November 24, 1713 and as a Franciscan monk was responsible for missions in Baja and Alta California at the time they began the conquest Spanish in Alta California, reaching up ten missions, which over time have become large cities in the United States of America and San Francisco, San Diego, San Antonio de Padua, Santa Clara, etc. His figure represents the State of California on Capitol Hill in Washington.
