Banyalbufar
Terraces are Banyalbufar’s most singular feature. They go down forming big steps until they reach the sea.
Banyalbufar’s vineyards are famous thanks to the malvasia, a sweet wine of extraordinary delicacy. In ancient times, around 2000 grapevines were cultivated in the terraces of this steep municipality, exclusively for the production of the malvasia wine.
In this village, there are three hotels, which altogether have 190 rooms available. There is also a rural hostel and some shops, bars, restaurants and cafés.
One of the most emblematic buildings is Sa Baronia, from the 16th century, which was the centre of feudal life in the past. It is important to highlight its courtyard and its watchtower, today converted into a hotel.
If you want to go hiking, we recommend that you do the trail to Port des Canonge, since this is the most important route in this area. This route is surrounded by pine forest and runs between rocky formations. Once in Port des Canonge, you will find the humble fisherman huts. This itinerary, of moderate difficulty, is signposted with orange signs.
