Deiá
Deià is a small municipality located on the northeast coast of Mallorca, in the mountain range of Serra de Tramuntana, between Valldemossa, Sóller and Bunyola.
This region covers 5 km of the coast, including the points of Sa Foradada and Deià, Cala de Deià and Llucalcari.
The highest point is Puig del Teix, which is 1062 metres high.
The old village of Deià, located at a height of 200 metres on the southern side of Es Puig to avoid the north wind, and the small hamlet of Llucalcari, located near the coast, about 3 km from Deià, are the only two population centres in this municipality.
The steep streets of the village that go from Es Clot up to Es Puig were developed from the Middle Ages onwards during the Muslim domination of the island.
The parish church of Deià, which is situated on the top of the hill on which the town lies, stands out above the rest of the buildings. It has a single nave covered by a half barrel vault and a square layout, with a watchtower next to it that has been used as a bell tower since 1525.
In this municipality there are also important fincas, such as Son Marroig, one of the properties that Archduke Ludwig Salvator of Austria (1847-1915) purchased on the Mallorcan northern coast.
This village has seduced many artists throughout the years. The English poet Robert Graves, worldwide known for his literary works, lived in Deià for almost half a century, in the house he had in Can Alluny, which has been converted into a museum. He died there in 1985 and was buried in the village’s cemetery under a modest gravestone that says “Robert Graves. Poet”.

- The Es Clot Archaeological Museum was founded in 1962 by the North-American archaeologist, painter and sculptor William Waldren and contains prehistoric discoveries from different sites in the area.

The Yanikun - Sa Font Fresca Museum houses part of the pictorial work of the painter Norman Yanikun, a member of the artistic group of Es Deu des Teix. Yanikun lived in Deià until he died in 1988.
