Campanet
Campanet is located between the municipalities of Escorca, Búger, Selva, Sa Pobla and Pollença. It has medieval origins and in the 16th century, new areas developed around the hamlet: Carrer Nou, Pexino, Son Massanet, Son Pocos, Son Bordoi and Son Puça.
Located in the district of Raiguer, its landscape is characterised by cultivated lands, Holm oak woods, pine forests and the plentiful ravine of Sant Miquel, which runs through the plains of this municipality.
The most mountainous zone in this municipality includes the foothills of the southern slopes of Mount Gornir, a summit that is 1103 metres high. The central zone consists of a series of hills on which the village of Campanet lies, as well as of the alluvial plain to the south.
Near the hermitage of Sant Miquel and the before mentioned ravine, you can find the Caves of Campanet, located in Puig de Sant Miquel.
Not far away from the caves, there are the fincas of Gabellí Gran and Gabellí Petit. In Gabellí Petit there is a thick Holm oak wood, under which a natural phenomenon of singular beauty takes place, Ses Fonts Ufanes. In winter, when the rains in the area of Puig Tomir and Puig de Ca Miner are heavy, irregular water springs emerge from the Holm oak wood and form the ravine of Ses Fonts Ufanes. Then, this water connects with the waters of the areas of Biniatró and Massana and flow into the ravine of Sant Miquel.
